One Tour for Europe
A youth-led campaign combining street actions, art, digital communication, and community engagement to encourage participation in the 2024 European Parliament elections, particularly among first-time voters.

The campaign
One Tour for Europe was a youth-led awareness campaign designed to encourage participation in the 2024 European Parliament elections, particularly among first-time voters. Led by One Hour for Europe Italia APS and co-funded by the European Parliament Offices, it brought democratic participation into public spaces through direct outreach, art, and online communication.
As project manager, Francesco coordinated the campaign’s development and delivery across its physical and digital activities, working with the local networks that made each intervention possible.
From public spaces to digital participation
The campaign combined street actions in Italian cities with online media, informational booths, flyers, hashtags, QR codes, and a digital wall. Murals, benches, installations, and other participatory artistic interventions offered a visible and creative route into conversations about EU values, democracy, and the elections.
A network-led approach
Local volunteers and civil-society organisations helped adapt the activities to each city and make them inclusive, visible, and useful. The campaign reflects One Hour for Europe’s wider commitment to inclusion and diversity, participatory methods, and sustained youth engagement with European democracy.
From Forlì to the European Parliament
During the Forlì stage, young people created a customised European flag as one of the campaign’s artistic outcomes. The work, created by artist Rachel Rouzaud, was later exhibited in the European Parliament’s flags hall in Strasbourg in 2025—carrying a local, youth-led contribution into a European institutional space.
